The first reviews for Arkane's Redfall have dropped, and we now also have the first Redfall Xbox vs PC comparison video.
As covered in our own analysis of the PC port yesterday, the PC version of Arkane is a solid port with pretty great DLSS 3 performance. Surely, this isn't the best-looking current-gen title, but the game runs great with only minimal traversal stuttering. These observations are supported by the new comparison video from YouTuber 'ElAnalistaDebits', which mentions "very acceptable performance in general" for the PC version with a big boost coming from DLSS 3 on NVIDIA 40 series GPUs.
The state of the game on Xbox Series appears to be a different story, however, with the comparison video highlighting subpar performance, especially on Series S. Arkane promised that the game would run at 1440p@30FPS on Microsoft's entry-level console, but going by this comparison video, it runs at dynamic 1080p@30FPS. Both the Series X and Series S versions suffer from texture loading issues, and this is especially apparent on the Series S. Also, there are various cutbacks in various settings, including draw distance, reflections, textures, and shadows.
Check out the comparison video below and judge for yourself:
Redfall is out today for PC, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The game is also available on day one via Xbox Game Pass.
