Warning: Spoilers ahead forRaising Dion season 2!
Despite being the main antagonist in Raising Dion, little is known about the origins of the Crooked Man. Initially thought to be a part of Pat Rollins (Jason Ritter), it's clear in season 2 that it is its own entity. What's not clear, however, is exactly where it came from, or potentially who it could be.
With a successful season 1, it's no surprise how gripping season 2 of Raising Dion is. Further developing the lead characters like Dion Warren (Ja'Siah Young), his mother Nicole Warren (Alisha Wainwright), and Dion's friends, Raising Dion season 2 also introduces some new characters, such as Tevin Wakefield (Rome Flynn) and Janelle Carr (Aubriana Davis); both powered people since being exposed to the Aurora event in Iceland. Season 2 also changes a lot for how The Crooked Man is understood. A being clearly separate from its first host Pat, a dark persona evolves throughout season 2, but very few clues are revealed as to its true origins.

One theory is that the Crooked Man is made up of pure energy and simply gained intelligence and personality, perhaps due to its initial connection to Pat. The Crooked Man seems very connected to the earth, as seen in Raising Dion season 2, manipulating plants and insect-like creatures through Brayden Mills (Griffin Robert Faulkner) to turn humans into an army of monsters. Although the effects are eventually reversed, it seems towards the end of Raising Dion season 2, episode 4, «With Friends Like These,» that there might be a full-blown apocalypse at hand as the Crooked Man builds up his army to try and defeat Dion.
