It's day one of the Sepulcher of the First Ones Race to World First! As part of our coverage of the race, we're featuring daily updates from Dratnos and Tettles! Today's discussion, recorded a few hours after the North American servers came up, has two main topics. The first is predictions about how the race will go, and who will secure the top spots.
The previous top 5 was Echo in First, Liquid in Second, SK Pieces in Third, BDGG in Fourth, and Method in Fifth. Dratnos and Tettles explain the nature of that top five and how it's likely that the same guilds will finish in the top 5 this time.
In general, these five guilds have been investing resources and powering up at a rate that's hard for other guilds to match, though there are many other strong guilds vying for those spots. Within the top five, Echo and Liquid are overwhelming favorites to remain in the top 2, but which is first and which is second is hotly contested, as the two guilds have split the last two Races.
In many ways, this tier is going to be the pivotal decider for which guild can claim dominance over the entire Expansion! The other topic of the show is the current Splits situation, which explains why as of several hours into the reset there are still no guilds that have killed the first boss of Mythic. Historically, guilds tend to jump right into Mythic because there are usually some fairly easy bosses early on for top caliber guilds.
This time around, however, the tier situation has created an incentive to blast Heroic first and identify which characters will get their set bonuses and become the mains of those respective players, and in some cases determine which players get to play and which players will ride the bench this tier.
