While he may spend his days punishing the wicked with extreme prejudice, an incident involving Spider-Man shows the Punisher is ready to face the same consequences he's doled out to criminals. A rarely-seen side of Frank Castle came out when the Punisher accidentally injured Peter Parker in a bid to protect Nick Fury.
Since the deaths of his family, Frank Castle has been waging a one-man war on crime that has made him one of the most controversial figures in the Marvel Universe. With an unrelenting dedication to eradicating crime in all its forms, the Punisher has gone all-in to wage his campaign and exterminate the guilty. However, despite his tendency for explosive and deadly confrontations, Castle has made it a point to never bring harm to innocents, no doubt haunted by the thought of his wife and children's killings.

Unfortunately, Frank Castle's worst nightmare came true during a battle in Ultimate Avengers vs. New Ultimates #3 by Mark Millar, Leinil Yu, and Stephen Segovia. A fight broke out between the two sides after the New Ultimates believe that Nick Fury is trading the Super Solider serum to other nations. The two sides tear into one another, with Captain America and Nick Fury getting into an all-out brawl on the Queensborough Bridge. To aide Fury, the Punisher aims to take out Steve Rogers' kneecaps. However, the moment he pulls the trigger, Spider-Man dives into save Captain America, taking a shot to the side. The following issue, Frank is mortified that he has shot someone he didn't intend to and demands to the arresting officers that they shoot him for his crime.
Fans almost never get to see this side of the Punisher. No matter
