PS5 users outside of America can finally auto-upload captures to mobile
PlayStation 5 owners in Europe and the rest of the world can now automatically upload captures to their mobile device, nearly two months after North American players started getting the feature.
PS5 owners in North America started reporting at the end of January that they could automatically upload captured screenshots and videos to the PlayStation mobile app.
Although the feature appeared to be rolling out worldwide, users outside of North America and Japan have had to continue waiting for nearly two months for it to reach them.
Now, however, as VGC can confirm, the PlayStation mobile app finally gives players in the UK the option to turn on auto-upload.
Users on the PS5 subreddit also confirmed that it was now working in Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland and Italy, as well as non-European regions including South Africa, India and parts of the Middle East.
Until now, for those without the feature, there’s been no way to automatically access captures on the PlayStation mobile app, meaning players have had to use their console to manually share them on social media and download them there.
Once they turn on the feature in the PlayStation mobile app, however, their linked console will now start auto-uploading captures, which will remain available to save to their device for 14 days. This will allow players to use their captures in their photo or editing app of choice, rather than being limited to sharing them on social media.
Any captures that were taken before the feature was enabled in the app won’t automatically transfer over, however.
