The highly-anticipated game Stray has received an official release date of July 19 after a recent gameplay trailer which also announced that the game will be free upon release for PS Plus subscribers. First revealed in 2020, the upcoming cyberpunk cat title Stray, from publisher Annapurna Interactive has been a long-awaited release for many fans. In the past, Annapurna has published critically acclaimed indie titles such as Twelve Minutes, Sayonara Wild Hearts, and Journey.
Stray stars a cat protagonist who is trying to escape a mysterious, futuristic city. A mix of exploration and puzzle-platforming, Stray players will wander around the neon-lit city interacting with robots, utilizing tools, and learning about the secrets of the city. Players will be aided by a drone named B12 along their adventure, who will help the cat protagonist interact with technology and collect items.

The latest State of Play presentation from Sony revealed Stray's new trailer, announcing the game's release date and revealing PS Plus subscribers can play the game for free upon release. Stray is set to be released July 19 for Playstation consoles as well as on Steam. The new trailer shows new gameplay footage from the cyberpunk adventure, showing the protagonist exploring locations like abandoned subways and a large treehouse, as well as receiving something called a "Cat Badge."
