PS Plus Premium might as well have been Sony’s worst-kept secret. Prior to its official confirmation, there were several reports and rumors about it—something many PS Plus subscribers kept their eyes on. Its official reveal went about as expected, with many debating the cost of PS Plus Extra or PS Plus Premium, but the big selling point is the library of games.
Thanks to PS Plus Extra, fans are getting some PS4 and PS5 games they can play on their subscription, including the Spider-Man games, Red Dead, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Death Stranding, and more. Sony is also tapping into its back catalog by releasing several PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS3 games for PS Plus Premium, via stream and/or download.

Sony recently revealed some of the games coming to the service at launch, but the keyword is some. Many have found this launch list to be lackluster, and there are some notable missing games from the PS Plus Premium list. There’s not much in the way of the PSP, to begin with, but some games like Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core absolutely belong on PS Plus Premium.
Yet, Sony did not show its entire hand. It’s worth keeping in mind that PS Plus Premium’s release date is still a few weeks away, and Sony will likely show more as it gets closer—still saving some surprises for launch. Many wanted to show the entire PS Plus Premium games list, and while that would make sense and make many happy, it did not or could not for one reason or another. Still, for those new to PS5 or the greater PlayStation ecosystem, this is still a great subscription service.
As it stands, here are the games currently slated for launch.
