Although Sony recently revealed an extensive slate of PS1, PS2, PSP, PS3, PS4, and PSP games coming to PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium when it launches next month, that was only a taste of the games to come. The exact number of launch titles is not yet known, but Sony has promised over 700+ games for PS Plus Premium users.
While North America will be getting PS Plus Premium on June 13, the service launches in about two days in Asia. Because of this, some more games seem to be appearing online for the service’s launch. Now two new games, a PSP and a PS1 game, have now been shown off for the service.
PS3 XMB Gets Tweak Ahead of PS Plus Revamp
These two new titles include the PSP gameRidge Racer 2 and the PS1 game Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee. Ridge Racer 2 is an arcade-style racing game, where players choose a car, a transmission, and a song for races against others. Certain vehicles can be unlocked, and depending on the version of the game, mirror tracks could be unlocked too. Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, on the other hand, is a platform game, the first of many in a beloved franchise. Players take on the role of Abe as they attempt to liberate the enslaved Mudokons before they are slaughtered.
Each game has been updated with new features for PS Plus Premium, including up-rendering, rewind, quicksave, and video filters. For many, these may not be the most interesting or convincing titles to come to the service, but they are just two of many. There will also certainly be fans who are nostalgic of them.
