To say Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is currently undergoing somewhat of a troubled development is an understatement. The game has been delayed several times since it was first revealed, and developers Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune were taken off the project in favor of Ubisoft Montreal. Well, it gets worse, as Ubisoft has revealed the game has been delayed once again and is no longer targeting a FY2023 release.

This news came via IGN, shortly after fans were reportedly having their pre-orders canceled. Several retail stores including GameStop seemingly began to delist pre-orders for the Sands of Time Remake earlier today, leaving fans wondering if the game had been canceled altogether. This prompted Ubisoft to make a statement to IGN, explaining that the game is still in development, but the switch of developers has pushed it back even further.

"The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montreal," says Ubisoft.
