To say Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is currently undergoing somewhat of a troubled development is an understatement. The game has been delayed several times since it was first revealed, and developers Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune were taken off the project in favor of Ubisoft Montreal. Well, it gets worse, as Ubisoft has revealed the game has been delayed once again and is no longer targeting a FY2023 release.
This news came via IGN, shortly after fans were reportedly having their pre-orders canceled. Several retail stores including GameStop seemingly began to delist pre-orders for the Sands of Time Remake earlier today, leaving fans wondering if the game had been canceled altogether. This prompted Ubisoft to make a statement to IGN, explaining that the game is still in development, but the switch of developers has pushed it back even further.

"The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montreal," says Ubisoft. "As a consequence, we are no longer targeting a FY23 release anymore and the game has been delisted. If players wish to cancel their preorder they are invited to contact their retailer. They will be updated on the project as the development is moving along."
We can only speculate as to what state the game is currently in at the moment, but the fact it's being delisted from retail stores implies it's a mile off from release, if it even releases at all. Ubisoft has revealed that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake won't launch until at least after April 2023, and seems to have delayed the game indefinitely.
