Predictably, Batman: Arkham Trilogy is delayed on Switch
destructoid.comIf you really, really wanted to take a gamble on whether or not the Batman: Arkham games would be optimized for the Switch when the set of newly-announced trilogy ports arrives later this year, it looks like you’ll be waiting a bit longer for it. WB has announced that the Batman: Arkham Trilogy pack has been shifted out of its original October 13 window (which was right around the corner!) and is now set for December.
Here’s the full statement from the game’s official Twitter account:
“Batman: Arkham Trilogy for Nintendo Switch will now launch on December 1, 2023. More time is needed to bring players the best possible experience on Nintendo Switch. We apologize to fans who are excited to play this version of the trilogy. Thank you for your patience.”
As a reminder, this trilogy includes Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight, forgoing the prequel story of Arkham Origins. Sadly, only one game is actually on the cart (Arkham Asylum), and the rest will be digital downloads. Yep, you’ll need an online connection to actually get the other two games if you buy the pack physically.
Normally platform proliferation and more physical releases are a great thing, but as usual, WB is going about it in a really strange and potentially buggy way. We’ll have to wait a few more months to see the state of the Arkham trilogy on Switch. Hopefully, at the very least, Arkham Asylum (the crown jewel and the only game on the cart) is stable!
