The next installment in the Madden NFL franchise hasn't really been unveiled yet but one big piece of news might have slipped out recently. While GameStop might have been the first to officially tease that Madden NFL 23 is coming, it appears that a look at what the game's cover will look like is out there in the world.
Just when information about the next installment in the Madden NFL series isn't quite yet known but it's common knowledge around the franchise's community of gamers that it's about this time of year when info starts trickling out. Usually, the first bit of info that is officially announced by Electronic Arts is which player or players are going to be on the cover. This time around, the cover star might not be a player at all.

One of the more popular Madden streamers in the community believes he spotted what the next Madden NFL 23 cover is going to be and posted the picture on Twitter. The user, who goes by DMoney on the social media site, posted that he was talking through Canton, Ohio when he spotted what the cover is going to be. He then included a picture that appeared to show that the cover of the next game will actually be a picture of the franchise's namesake, John Madden.
The choice of using the former Oakland Raiders coach and renowned NFL broadcast makes sense as a tribute considering John Madden passed away in December. While his likeness and voice haven't been involved in the game for quite a few years now, there was a time when Madden always appeared on the game's cover.
