Azumarill, the Water and Fairy-type Aqua Rabbit Pokémon, will soon be added to Pokémon Unite as an adorable melee powerhouse. The multiplayer online battle arena sees two teams of players become pocket monsters and fight to earn more points than their rivals. Since launch Pokémon Unite has added new playable characters, like Blastoise and Sylveon, in the form of frequent updates.
While most Pokémon titles cast players as a trainer trying to catch 'em all, Pokémon Unite lets fans actually become their favorite pocket monsters and battle others for supremacy. A standard match sees two teams of five players competing for points, which are earned by either capturing control points across the map or defeating computer-controlled wild Pokémon. Player-controlled Pokémon can level up throughout the match, giving gamers access to new combat skills. Pokémon Unite originally launched with 19 playable creatures, including franchise staples like Pikachu and Charizard, and post-launch updates have increased that lineup to 34 total Pokémon. A major Pokémon Unite game update added the title's most recent new creature, the long-range Alloy Pokémon Duraludon, on March 14.

As announced by Pokémon Unite via Twitter, Azumarill will become the newest addition to the MOBA title's roster on April 7. The rotund blue bunny uses both Water and Fairy attacks, and this combination seems to be reflected in-game by a host of unique moves. Azumarill will serve as a Melee All-Rounder, granting it great versatility in the ways it can function on the battlefield.
