Season 2 of Halo Infinite is almost here, promising plenty of fresh content for fans of the sci-fi shooter to enjoy. Ahead of Season 2’s release, 343 Industries has released a trailer showcasing two new maps for Halo Infinite and an accompanying Halo Waypoint blog post detailing the design philosophy behind these maps.
Halo Infinite’s first season, “Heroes of Reach,” has been ongoing since the game’s multiplayer component launched in November 2021. Since then, the Halo community has grown disgruntled over a lack of content and key features still missing, such as the co-op campaign and the beloved Forge mode. Season 2 of Halo Infinite—“Lone Wolves”— is set to launch on May 3 and promises to bring a healthy boost of content to the game along with various fixes and quality-of-life improvements.

Today’s new trailer gives fans a good look at what to expect from Catalyst and Breaker, available on day one of Halo Infinite’s Season 2. The trailer showcases Catalyst, a tunnel-like arena map inside an abandoned Forerunner edifice. Halo’s signature Forerunner aesthetic paints every corner of Catalyst, and the trailer gives fans a peek at where to find the highly coveted power weapons on the map. Meanwhile, Breaker is a Big Team Battle-oriented map set in a Banished scrapyard in the middle of a desert. Breaker’s snippet shows off a more complex and expansive map design along with a hazardous plasma beam at the map’s center.
