Elden Ring may be available to play on six different platforms, but it's now going to appear on a seventh thanks to an unofficial remake of the game heading to the Game Boy.
As IGN reports, the so-called "demake" is being developed by Twitter user shintendo, who announced the project on Reddit. This isn't just a version of the game that has the Game Boy look and feel, it will actually run on Game Boy hardware once complete.
Elden Ring is a huge game, but for now shintendo is aiming to recreate the Limgrave region, which is the first accessible area in FromSoftware's game. Development is being carried out using GB Studio 3.0, which combines a number of tools to form a complete drag-and-drop solution for producing games that can run through a Game Boy emulator or on a cartridge inserted into the handheld (which means it should be playable on the Analogue Pocket, too). There's also options to export the game so it can be played in a web browser.
Shintendo is aiming to have a demo of the game available by the end of May, and you'll be able to follow along with development via Twitch channel shintendoTV. Hopefully everyone, including FromSoftware and Bandai Namco, are curious to see how this turns out and if shintendo decides to carry on with development beyond Limgrave.
