The Pokémon TCG has announced that it will be producing special Halloween-themed booster packs later this year. A Pokémon holiday season calendar will also appear in stores later this year, giving fans of the trading card game a daily dose of products throughout December.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game is no stranger to seasonal goods and promotional events. In addition to the upcoming advent calendar, which will celebrate the holiday season with a variety of thematic cards and goods, the TCG has produced cards for a wide variety of other occasions over the years. These range from movie promo cards, like the classic Ancient Mew, to various fast-food chain collaborations. Only recently, a new Pokémon Center shop opened in the United Kingdom. Similar events in the past have prompted the release of a 'Special Delivery' promo card to mark the occasion; for instance, fans have been eagerly awaiting the distribution of the new Special Delivery Charizard via promo code.

Now Serebii reports that special Halloween-themed booster packs will be released as part of the Pokémon Company's Halloween merchandise for this year, named 'Trick or Trade' as an obvious play on Trick or Treat. While each booster is only a miniature pack containing three Pokémon cards, they will be sold in packs of 40, which are apparently labeled 'BOOster bundles.' This means that each bundle will contain a total of 120 cards. The cards featured in the packs will include Zubat, Pumpkaboo and Polteageist, alongside other spooky Pokémon which all tie into the Halloween theme. As they form a specially curated collection, these cards will all be marked "with a Pikachu Pumpkin stamp" to separate them
