Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's Co-op Reveal Confirms Character Customization
A new gameplay trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has confirmed exciting new features for the games, including 4-player co-op and character customization. While the overall look of Scarlet and Violet is miles away from the classic, linear gameplay of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow, the chance to experience the Pokémon world in a new way will likely be exciting for modern fans of the series.
The announcement for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet came earlier this year, with the new games revealed during the February «Pokémon Presents» livestream alongside news for Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The original trailer offered a look at the new region, starter Pokémon, and open-world locations that players will soon be able to explore. Unfortunately, news about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has been minimal since the first trailer, leaving many to speculate what mechanics from past games will continue forward.

However, additional information is now available thanks to a new gameplay trailer revealed on The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel, including the confirmation of 4-player co-op and character customization. According to the trailer, players will be able to team up in groups of four to explore select locations in the new region. Additionally, the playable characters shown in the co-op reveal all have appearances that differ from the confirmed preset character designs for Scarlet and Violet. This includes different hairstyles, clothing options, skin tones, and accessories. The character models also appear to be more detailed than past Pokémon
