A brand-new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has revealed the upcoming titles' release date and gives a glimpse at some brand-new pocket monsters. The next installments in the beloved monster collection franchise will ring in the series' 9th Generation and expand the franchise's ever-growing roster of creatures. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were announced earlier this year with a vague 2022 release window, the new games are now confirmed for the holiday season.
Revealed back in February, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will bring fans to a brand-new open-world region filled with exciting new Pokémon species. While little is currently known about Gen 9 installments, many fans believe that the new setting will draw inspiration from the gorgeous cities and beaches of Spain. The three new starter Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have also been revealed: the Grass-type cat Sprigatito, the Fire-type crocodile Fuecoco, and the Water-type duckling Quaxly. The new starters have become fan-favorites within the games' community, already spawning Pokémon Scarlet and Violet fan art.

A brand-new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet trailer, posted to YouTube by Pokémon, reveals the release date of the upcoming games alongside several Pokémon species.
