A Pokémon fan on Reddit has revealed a little-known but useful gameplay feature hidden in the original Pokémon Red and Blue games. The first entries in the Pokémon franchise were originally released in Japan as Pocket Monsters: Red and Green in 1996.
Although unusual, it isn't totally unheard of for old games to surprise modern gamers. Well-hidden Easter eggs and features can lie in wait for years, perhaps even decades, before being discovered. And for games that are part of a franchise, players who are used to more modern entries may find themselves stumbling across gameplay mechanics which were phased out or altered at some point. Of course, there are the mechanics that go unnoticed, simply because the allure of a new game far outstripped any interest in the instruction manual. In a post admitting a 20-year familiarity with Pokémon Red and Blue, Redditor Jedi_Lucky has revealed their recent discovery of a simple, but easy-to-miss gameplay feature. In the Pokémon games, reorganizing Moves can usually be a bit of a time-consuming affair. Trainers usually find themselves dipping in and out of various status menus to change the order in which Moves appear on the screen in battle. However, there is actually another method that speeds this process up significantly; players can actually use the Select button to quickly reorder the entries on a Pokémon's Move list, even whilst in battle. This Pokémon gameplay mechanic is often overlooked, most likely because the main games do not draw attention to it;
