Pokemon Legends: Arceus has retconned Indian Elephants from the Pokemon universe.
Pokemon has many interesting Pokedex entries, most of which turn the loveable pocket monsters into terrifying creatures of the night. Although Considering how long the series has been around, there are bound to be a few weird omissions and inclusions, and one that jumps to mind for many fans is the mention of Indian Elephants in both Gastly and Raichu's Pokedex entries.

Although Pokemon does take inspiration from real-world animals, it tends not to mention any of them. That is, aside from the Indian Elephant. Raichu's FireRed and Sun Pokedex entries read, "Its electric charges can reach even 100,000 volts. Careless contact can cause even an Indian elephant to faint", while Gastly's FireRed entry says, "A being that exists as a thin gas. It can topple an Indian elephant by enveloping the prey in two seconds".
Although Indian Elephants haven't been mentioned in Pokemon since those Pokedex entries, they do stand out as some of the few that mention real-world animals, which is made even weirder by the fact that elephant-inspired Pokemon now exist. Well, Arceus has gone some way to fixing that, essentially retconning them from the series.
Raichu's Pokedex entry in Arceus reads, "Possesses cheek sacs in which it stores electricity. This clever forest-dweller roasts tough berries with an electric shock before consuming them. It can discharge bursts of electricity exceeding 100,000 volts— a single strike with that amount of power would incapacitate one of the Copperajah of my homeland."
