Pokémon Legends: Arceus has introduced a new style of gameplay for Pokémon games, with the Hisui region's map broken up into five explorable, wild locations, and the small town of Jubilife Village. Previous games required players to stay in motion, moving from town to town via routes, with no clear base to return to. While Sword and Shield began introducing the concept of open-world-inspired gameplay in Galar, the Wild Area is small and limited compared to the exploration capable in the areas of Hisui's map. In a post shared by the Pokémon Twitter page, fans have been encouraged to share their adventures, stating, "You’ve received the Celestica Flute and summoned a special Pokémon that allows you to gallop across the land, cross bodies of water, or soar through the skies—what do you see?"
