As reported by WABetaInfo WhatsApp is introducing new features for viewing media files. They are currently working on a new way of obtaining a preview when you share images and videos as documents. That means sharing the high quality images will be easier now without distorting their quality and spamming the chats with unlively documented files as the preview in the chat window will provide a sneak peek that should be sufficient to identify it.

WABetaInfo shared a screenshot of the feature, which reveals that now you and even the receiver will be able to know the content of the document before downloading or opening it. Though, WhatsApp is rolling out this feature to only certain beta testers for the moment. Right now, there is no preview option for both sender and receiver to know what that document carries inside it. It just shows the name of the file along with it.
