Following its release at the end of January, Pokemon Legends: Arceus has already become a massive hit for franchise. In fact, sales for the Switch exclusive have gotten off to an incredibly hot start, with Nintendo posting that Arceus has seen over 6.5 million players enter the ancient lands of Hisui. The high sales likely bodes well for the myriad of changes to the traditional Pokemon formula, potentially indicating further refinements with the next few games in the series.
Part of that success is likely due to the various changesPokemon Legends: Arceus makes to the core gameplay loops from past games. While players are encouraged to complete the Pokedex considering they're creating the very first one according to the game's lore, gameplay also includes much more open areas where they can come across wild Pokemon that can be caught without battling. While not positioned as a true live-service title, it's clear that Nintendo aims to hold on to the game's early success by periodically releasing new content and events.
Pokemon Legends Arceus Players Are Having Difficulty Catching Cherrim
While not yet confirmed from Nintendo directly, the massive Pokemon website Serebii has found details of an upcoming event for Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Coming across signage at a GameStop, the event is set to kick off on February 25, nearly a month after the game's initial launch, and will be giving players a Hisuian Growlithe and 20 Feather Balls. The event runs until March 13 and as of right now, appears to be US only, with no international details revealed as of yet.
