A dataminer has found a new Poke Ball in Pokemon Legends: Arceus - the "Strange Ball".
Pokemon Legends: Arceus has a ton of content hidden within its files and dataminers are slowly working their way through it to get hints at cut content or things that might be added to the game later. One of the most interesting pieces of datamined content so far is the "Strange Ball", a new Poke Ball that has unknown purposes.

The Strange Ball was found by dataminer QStheSLAYER, who posted a video of their findings on Twitter. The video shows them going up against a Bidoof, before using the Strange Ball to capture them. It was initially believed that the Strange Ball couldn't be used to capture Pokemon, but QStheSLAYER later proved that it can.
It's currently unknown what the Strange Ball is actually supposed to do. It's appearance is unusual, looking like a green see-through ball, almost as if it was made of glass. It's clearly based on more modern Poke Balls, but it doesn't have any unique animations or special effects to go alongside it. In fact, it actually uses the animation for the regular Poke Ball, with fireworks shooting out a vent that doesn't even exist on the Strange Ball.
Even stranger (pun intended) the Strange Ball doesn't have any description to go alongside it. The box is simply left blank instead of giving a hint as to what the ball might be used for.
The theory that has the most grounding so far is that the Strange Ball is somehow related to Pokemon Home support for Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The ball shares the same colour scheme as Pokemon Home and support for the feature currently doesn't exist within Arceus. The developers of Pokemon Home,
