In the quest to catch them all, one Pokémon GO player briefly was told by their husband that a Shiny Miltank was nearby only to find out it was a troll effort a short time later. A shiny version of the normal-type Pokémon has been part of the augmented reality title for more than a year after it was added as part of 2021's Johto Celebration event.
By their nature, Shiny Pokémon are much more difficult to come by when compared to their normal counterparts. That has not, however, prevented some lucky players from catching multiple shiny Pokémon in quick succession with one recent Pokémon GO player catching 5 Shinies in 30 minutes. Then there are those who are not so lucky and struggle to find a specific Shiny Pokémon. While failing to find the elusive shiny might be frustrating, even more frustrating is having the potential catch fall away in front of the player's eyes, or discovering it was all a mirage.

Reddit user tundrab0y was in this exact predicament as they were on the hunt for a Shiny Miltank. One day while working in the home office, the Reddit user got a message from their husband saying that the shiny version of the Normal-type Pokémon was in their house. Two minutes later, however, tundrab0y's hopes were quickly and amusingly dashed by a screenshot showing a normal Miltank with a quick iPhone-edit makeover to color it blue. The gesture was taken in good humor with many commenters expressing their support for the mild trolling.
