The annual Pokemon GO Halloween event returns once again, and just like last year, it will be a two-part event. The first part will see the arrival of a new Ghost-type Mega Pokemon, a new shiny, and the remixed version of the Lavender Town music in-game.
The Halloween event in Pokemon GO is beloved by fans and has made itself one of the premiere events in the game thanks to nostalgic changes to the in-game music, generous bonuses to catch candy, and increased spawns of Ghost-type Pokemon that tend to be rare during the rest of the year. This year's event will once again be split into two parts and feature increased spawns of Ghost-, Poison-, and Dark-type Pokemon, as wel as the debut of the shiny variant of a popular Bat Pokemon.

Part 1 of the Pokemon GO Halloween event will start on October 20 and will reward players with double candy for catching, hatching, and transferring Pokemon. Players above Level 31 will also get a guaranteed XL Candy for their buddy Pokemon that explores the world with them. Event spawns will include Gastly, Haunter, Zubat, Spinarak, Murkrow, Misdreveous, Shuppet, Dusclops, Absol, Sabeleye, Driftloon, Yamask, Golett, Phantump, and Pumpkaboo. Shinies for Gastly, Zubat, Spinarak, Murkrow, Misdreveous, Shuppet, Absol, Sabeleye, Driftloon, and Yamask will have increased spawn rates.
Event-themed eggs 7km eggs will have Noibat, whose shiny will make its debut appearance, Yamask and Galarian Yamask, Phantump, and Golett. For the first time in Pokemon GO, Mega Bannette, the evolved form of Shuppet will be available in Mega Raids and will also have the possibility to be shiny.
