While the rest of the world gears up for summer, mobile app Pokemon GO will instead be saying goodbye to the tropical islands of Alola. This Hawaii-inspired region served as the setting for a series of recent Pokemon GO events, collectively termed the «Season of Alola.» As the Season winds down, developer Niantic revealed that there will be one more celebration of all things Alola.
The Alola region, first introduced in the 2016 main series titles Pokemon Sun and Moon, consists of four islands, each home to several unique species of Pokemon. Many popular Pokemon received a redesign and new type assignment for Alola, including Rattata, Exeggutor, Vulpix, Meowth, and more.
