A new Palworld gameplay trailer mixes open-world monster collection, reminiscent of Pokémon Legends:Arceus, with brutal third-person shooter gunplay. The upcoming independent game, developed by Pocketpair, will let players fight, farm and consume mysterious Pokémon-like creatures called Pals. Palworld will combine survival, crafting and guns to create a possibly bizarre and undeniably unique experience.
By combining several different concepts and genres, Palworld looks poised to give players a gaming experience unlike any other. Like Pokémon Legends: Arceus the game will let players track, fight and collect monsters within a large open-world environment. However, rather than merely sneaking up on wild creatures or fighting them with their own pocket monsters, players in Palworld fight with modern firearms like shotguns and assault rifles. Also, while Pocketpair's unusual title does let players befriend their Pals, these cartoonish creatures can also be butchered for meat or forced to perform hard manual labor. Therefore, Pocketpair perverts Pokémon in Palworld by turning the child-friendly concept into a potential slavery simulator.

A new gameplay trailer for Palworld, posted to YouTube by Pocketpair, sheds more light on the game's open-world format and intense combat system.
