An exciting Pokémon GO competition will let fans bring a temporary PokéStop to their community for free. The alternate reality mobile game lets players explore the real world to find and capture digital pocket monsters. Developer Niantic frequently supports the playerbase with new Pokémon GO events, but this particular competition will have a dramatic impact on some lucky fans.
Pokémon GO puts an innovative spin on the monster collection franchise by using alternate reality technology. By walking around their community players can encounter wild Pokémon, which they can then attempt to capture using the series' signature Poké Balls. There is a unique social aspect to Pokémon GO, which brings Trainers together to conquer scattered Pokémon Gyms and challenging Raid Battles. Three factions exist in the game, and players can work together to capture Gyms for their faction or team up for a raid to capture a Legendary Pokémon. PokéStops turn local landmarks into a source of items, and Pokémon GO Community Days focus on a specific creature that the entire fanbase can rally behind collecting.
A Pokémon GO blog post, also shared to Twitter by Pokémon GO, has detailed an exciting new event launching today. In celebration of Community Day, developer Niantic will offer five Trainers the chance to install a temporary new PokéStop in their community. Participants must tweet a video of their Pokémon GO community which demonstrates how they cooperate on the journey to catch 'em all. Five winners will then be chosen at random, receiving a new local PokéStop which will be available for six months. Entries to the contest will be accepted until March 14.
Entries will be accepted from March 11, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. PST to March 14, 2022, at
