The Pokemon series has nearly 900 Pokemon for players to encounter, collect, and train throughout its games. Despite this large number, Pokemon fans continue to add their own spin on existing designs by recoloring and through fusions of designs. The latest example of these reimagines the Pokemon Drifblim as a Chinese Lantern.
Pokemon as a franchise has existed for over two decades and recently saw the eighth generation of games unveil its latest title, Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Drifblim is traditionally a Ghost and Flying-type Pokemon introduced in Generation 4. This Pokemon evolves from Drifloon starting at level 28.

This new version of Drifblim is the creation of Reddit user meluharegion. In their post they have completely redrawn the design of this balloon-like Pokemon and changed its type as well. The original purple color scheme has been thrown out and replaced with vibrant reds and yellows to reflect this Pokemon's change to a Fire and Grass-type. This new dual type doesn't have a counterpart in the Pokemon series at the moment and would make for some unique combat combinations. The basic shape remains the same, but there is no longer a cloud upon this Pokemon’s head and, like Chinese lanterns, this new Drifblim has hanging tassels underneath. On top of this, the interior design on the ball-shaped head has an interesting repeating pattern. Meluharegion makes all these changes to truly convert Drifblim into a Chinese lantern.
