A Pokemon fan made art that turned Lycanroc and Dodrio into Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner. With almost 30 years of existence, the Pokemon franchise is generally aimed at a younger audience. Yet Pokemon's success has become such a phenomenon that over the years it has gained a legion of fans of all ages, whether through games, anime, and its presence in other media.
Another example of a work as resistant to time as Pokemon is Looney Tunes. The animated shorts series was produced by Warner Bros. from 1930 to 1969 during what became known as the Golden Age of American Animation. Along with the Merrie Melodies series, Looney Tunes became an icon of animation and pop culture with legendary characters such as Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny. Like Pokemon, Looney Tunes has spanned decades, making fans of different ages as has happened with the equally iconic Hanna-Barbera cartoons.
Pokemon Fan Designs Postcards Themed Around All the Regions
User GuiNRedS shared on Reddit a fun fan art imagining Lycanroc and Dodrio as Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner. Together Coyote and Road Runner star in The Road Runner Show, one of the best Looney Tunes shows where Coyote is on the eternal quest to eat the Road Runner. To do this Coyote uses every idea possible, and the famous Acme products. Lycanroc appears in GuiNRedS' fan art trying to blow up a box with 'free food.' Dodrio looks even more like Road Runner, where all three heads have been given a Road Runner-style appearance.
With over 1,000 Pokemon released over nine generations of games, the inspirations used to create Pokemon are many and varied. Some stand out for their good humor, such as Toedscool, and others leave the community indignant for the simplicity of their design, such as Flamigo.
