Fortnite offers crossplay on multiple consoles and mobile devices, which lets players seamlessly transition from one to the other, for instance, swapping from their PS4 to Xbox One while using the same account — a feature that is becoming more and more commonplace in gaming. However, there was previously a long-running issue that prevented players from accessing their V-Bucks on other platforms when they were purchased on PlayStation.
V-Bucks are the units of virtual currency that Fortnite players can use to take advantage of the game's most commonly updated feature: the in-game marketplace. This marketplace serves up countless pieces of cosmetics, ranging from alternate gliders, pickaxes, and even full reskins. The selection is practically infinite given how frequently it is updated and refreshed, with a recent collaboration bringing popular Fortnite content creator Ali-A to the game. Rather than purchasing these cosmetics directly or through the virtual marketplace of the given platform (the PlayStation Store, for instance), players use an interface provided through the Fortnite app itself.
