In a surprise announcement during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, Microsoft announced that Persona 3, 4, and 5 would be making their way to Xbox and PC via Game Pass. The beloved series will be making its first appearance on Xbox, but Sega has reassured fans that these Persona games would also be making their way onto PlayStation 5 in addition to Steam.
Persona fans have been asking for console and/or PC ports of Persona 3 and 4, and to bring Persona 5 onto other consoles besides just PlayStation 4. Microsoft answered the fans' call for the Persona console ports by bringing the series to Xbox, and its Game Pass would also be bolstered by including them as part of the subscription service.
Persona 3, 4, and 5 Are Coming to Game Pass
A day after the press conference, Sega confirmed these games will also be making their way to PlayStation 5 and Steam. This move also allows even more gamers to get their hands on the games and will mean that these Persona titles can be experienced by more people in the modern age. However, the games have no release date as of yet, likely meaning that Microsoft has some sort of exclusivity deal with Atlus.
Atlus has chosen to bring the definitive version of each game for modern consoles. Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal are obvious choices, but their choice to port Persona 3 Portable instead of Persona 3 FES has caused some debate among fans. Persona 3 Portable includes the opportunity to play as a female protagonist for the first and, so far, only time in the series. Persona 3 FES added an epilogue called The Answer in which the players instead take control of Aigis, one of the other members of the team in the main game.
