When Overwatch launched, a very different meta was present to what is seen now, and a big part of that initial meta was Mercy. Thanks to a new experimental update, she could be getting picked just as much she used to over the next few weeks, as the Overwatch healer has received a massive buff.
Live right now, the latest experimental update for Overwatch brings back Mercy’s original Resurrection, and for those that never got a chance to mess around with it, they may be shocked by how powerful it is. The ability allowed Mercy to resurrect entire teams, with up to five players able to be brought back all at once. Obviously, this would completely sway a fight, making Mercy a must-have hero until Blizzard eventually made adjustments to her kit. While the changes were necessary, some miss the old Mercy, and now fans of the game’s experimental gameplay will get to see her again.
Overwatch 2 Beta Rumors Fueled by More Details
In the patch notes for the experimental update, which were shared by Reddit user and Overwatch player zombiezelda, players can see that Mercy’s Resurrect will be her Ultimate once again. Like before, she will be able to bring back her entire team by using the ability at the right time, though it is worth noting that it is not as blatantly overpowered as it once was. Instead of instantly casting the ability, it takes two seconds, and the range is only 8 meters instead of the original 15. As such, Mercy cannot fly into the area risk-free, with some more thought and careful positioning still needed.
