Fans have been hoping for an Overwatch 2 beta for a while now and discussed their concerns on a thread regarding a recent tournament, the Overwatch Empowerment Cup.

AndyB explained to fans that the team working on the upcoming sequel knows that they are waiting for more information but doesn't have anything to announce right now. This upsets a lot of people looking forward to Overwatch 2 as they feel that the team needs to improve on its communication and give more updates if it does not want to lose Overwatch players' trust. Understanding this, AndyB also said that the team hopes that when it does announce more, it'll regain the lost trust of those that no longer have faith in it.
It's good to know that the team working on Overwatch 2 is aware of the concerns that fans of the original game have. This will hopefully result in the team giving the fans what they have been wanting by revealing more information on the game sooner rather than later instead of announcing tournaments that they don't care about as much. Some fans even feel that the upcoming season of the Overwatch League, which is expected to begin on May 5, should be delayed until Overwatch 2's release so that there aren't too many changes made at once.
