Overwatch 2 Players Debate Whether Competitive Play Needs Hero Bans

Whether it's Orisa controlling the meta, or Sombra mains just annoying the hell out of you, we all of that one character that we beg to be removed from competitive play, dreading going up against them in matches. Now, it's gotten so bad that some players want Blizzard to make a feature out of it.
Overwatch fans are debating whether or not Blizzard should implement hero pools or straight-up hero bans - a feature that was used for a bit in the first Overwatch, but never brought back for the sequel. This would see the available character roster reduce in competitive, encouraging everyone to play in a certain way, rather than run off and do their own thing with their one-trick.

"If hero ban was implemented into ranked who would you ban the most?" asks Reddit user kendell_dendell over on r/Overwatch2. To no one's surprise, there are a lot of candidates.
"Hanzo," votes starshipped. "Feels like an actual skill issue if my team and I can't deal with a Widow. But Hanzo? He doesn't even have to be actively peeking a sight line to oneshot you."
They are far from alone in this feeling. "Hanzo is the only hero who I legitimately have no idea how to outplay," says Liamendoza739.
Similarly, some would like to see heroes temporarily removed from competitive play while they're seen as overpowered. "Sojourn, until Blizzard actually fucking Nerfs her," says Null_Trooper. Many agree, saying that the devs need to make changes to her railgun.
