When Overwatch was first released, players naturally wondered how the maps would work. Gamers got to see their favorite and least favorite maps go in and out of rotation, both in recreational and competitive play. When Overwatch 2 was announced, gamers once again got to wonder which maps would make the cut. Although some controversial maps could have made a comeback in the sequel, nobody was surprised that the popular Watchpoint: Gibraltar would also be included.
However, even this relatively routine decision apparently wasn't as simple to implement as it appears. On Reddit, user Arbow_ noticed a strange detail when playing on the Watchpoint: Gibraltar map. Preparing to defend in front of the attackers' spawn point and overlooking the sea, Cassidy and his pals spotted one of the boats out in the ocean. That sounds normal, but there was nothing routine about the direction the vessel was heading.

Despite the water wake appearing behind the boat as normal, the boat and the wake were moving backward. Even landlocked gamers will be immediately jarred by the brief scene, watching a boat move in the opposite direction of where all the evidence says that it came from. How this happened for this one boat while the others remain moving forward as normal is a mystery for now. Whether it's immersion-breaking and a gross oversight or a simple and innocent error, gamers will need to see it for themselves to decide.
With a mistake like this, it can be theorized that Numbani is missing while the team irons out some details. If importing the original game into Overwatch 2 creates this level of complication, who knows what other maps have issues to be ironed out for simple reasons
