After months of anticipation, the wait to check out the PvP for Overwatch 2 is finally over for some players. The closed beta for the upcoming sequel was released on Tuesday, allowing fans to test out the reworked heroes for Overwatch 2 and visit several of the new and revamped maps in the process. Among the highlights of this test run of the game is the original map known as Colosseo.
First announced last month, Colosseo is a new map included in Overwatch 2. As the name suggests, it is set in Rome and features architecture appropriate to the region. Additionally, the map is intriguing as it is designed for the Overwatch 2 exclusive mode known as Push in which two teams try to escort a robot that pushes a barricade towards their base (think tug-o-war). While many beta players are still learning the layout of this map, one popular Twitch streamer recently made an intriguing discovery about the newly added location.
Twitch Streamer xQc Breaks Viewership Record Thanks to Overwatch 2 Beta
During a broadcast from April 26, popular Twitch streamer xQc made an unintentional albeit fortuitous discovery while checking out the Overwatch 2 closed beta. Playing as Mercy on the Colosseo map, he decided to separate from his team to avoid dying to the advancing enemy team. After doing this, the streamer jumped off the side of the map to try and reposition. What happened next was unexpected, to say the least.
Instead of free falling, xQc realized that Mercy had managed to stand on some sort of invisible ledge. Following this discovery, he was able to walk along this ledge and jump back up onto another region of the map. The shocked reaction from the streamer following the discovery seemed to suggest they had not anticipated that to happen.
