The first beta forOverwatch 2 is out now, and many players are already doing a bit of myth busting to find out how the new abilities can be countered. One test involved Bastion and his new Ultimate from Overwatch 2, with a Genji player finding that the Artillery Strike can be deflected.
Bastion’s Overwatch 2 rework has made him significantly more fun to play, with many content creators and players discussing how much more fun he is in the new game. Alongside the ability to move around while in turret form and launch into the air with a grenade, Bastion’s new Ultimate swaps out Tank mode with an Artillery Strike. This Artillery Strike allows players to mark three points, with explosives hitting them soon after they are marked. With how quick the projectiles land after being launched, and serious damage being dealt, this is an incredibly deadly Ultimate.
Overwatch 2 Hackers Already Ruining Games in the Beta
With it being so hard to escape from Bastion’s new Ultimate, it makes sense that players would be interested in finding a counter to it. Intriguingly, TrainOW on Reddit looked to Genji and his deflect for the solution. This makes some sense, as not only was Genji an excellent counter to the original Bastion since he could get up close and reflect the turret’s bullets back at him, but he is known to counter many Ultimates. From Mei’s Blizzard to Hanzo’s Dragonstrike, a good Genji has always excelled at sending Ultimates back at his foes.
