Warning! Spoilers Ahead for Outlander season 6, episode 3!
Outlander season 6 sees Claire and Jamie preparing for the oncoming Revolutionary War, but whether they will side with the British or the Americans is yet to be known. The Starz series returned for Outlander season 6 and the series has been wrought with tensions on Fraser’s Ridge. Now Outlander season 6, episode 3 brings news of what will come to be known as the Boston Tea Party and, while Claire and Jamie’s allegiance seems likely to fall on the winning side of history, the subject is complicated.
Following the story of time-traveler character, Claire Randall Fraser, Outlander has often seen its leading lady carrying the heavyweight of knowledge in the series. After Claire (Caitriona Balfe) time-travels through the stones at Craigh Na Dun from 1945 and arrives back in 1743 in Outlander season 1, Claire finds herself warning the Highlanders of the massacre that will come from their participation in the Battle of Culloden. Her plight leads her and Jamie (Sam Heughan) to Paris, where they attempt to change history by sabotaging the Jacobite cause, but it soon becomes clear that she is unable to prevent the battle and change history and she returns to the future, fleeing the bloodshed to protect her and Jamie’s unborn daughter, Brianna.

Now, Claire finds herself in a similar position in Outlander season 6. Knowing that the American Revolution is near at hand, Claire has warned those who know about her history—er, future—but her and Jamie’s allegiances in the upcoming revolutionary war are complicated. It is unlikely that the pair will find a simple solution to their dilemma off
