One Piece: Why Buggy Deserves More Credit
The diverse cast of characters inOne Piece is one of the best things about the series. Each character has some kind of role to play, which is what makes the series special as a whole. Normally, the characters who possess a great deal of power are able to attract the attention of the fans, but in One Piece, most characters are so well-written that they are able to captivate the audience regardless of their strength.
When it was confirmed that Buggy would be joining Luffy as one of the Yonko, it was received with mixed reactions as Buggy is nowhere near the level of a Yonko, but there are certain things that make him stand out as a character and why he deserves more credit.

Buggy has mainly been used as a comic relief character to take off some seriousness of a situation, but at the time of his introduction, Buggy seemed to be the farthest thing from being an amusing character. Buggy was hyped up a lot by the characters, who called him extremely dangerous. Eventually, a few episodes after his debut it became clear that Buggy would not be used as a serious character.
It didn't take long for Buggy's antics to win over the fanbase, and it turned him into one of the most adored characters. Aside from playing the role of the major antagonist in the Orange Town arc, Buggy was also involved in the Loguetown arc, where he was on the cusp of killing Luffy.
