One Piece Odyssey Shows Alabasta in New Trailer

Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates appear set to revisit some iconic locations from One Piece's history inside One Piece Odyssey, and players now know Alabasta will be among those locales thanks to the latest trailer. Luffy's adventures have taken him all across the Grand Line in his quest to become the greatest pirate in history, with Alabasta playing a key role in the first days of his crew's journey. The trailer, itself, teases a somewhat different Alabasta than the one the Straw Hats saw early on, but it seems conflict is still engulfing this nation.

In the original One Piece manga and anime, Alabasta was the focus of the Straw Hats Pirates' first major arc after leaving the East Blue and crossing the Grand Line. Luffy and his crew venture to the troubled nation at the behest of Princess Nefertari Vivi to help save it from the pirates ruling it from the shadows. It is here Luffy also crosses paths with Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea and head of the syndicate Baroque Works, alongside his second-in-command Nico Robin, who would join the Straw Hats after freeing Alabasta from Crocodile's rule.

One Piece Odyssey Release Date Announced

The aforementioned trailer for One Piece Odyssey, though, shows an Alabasta which has seemingly moved on from the conflicts brought about by Crocodile. However, it doesn't appear the country has fully recovered as conflict continues to engulf the nation as the Straw Hat Pirates make their return to the country. Players also get a glimpse at Vivi, who has led the country since Luffy was able to defeat Crocodile and his forces.
