The celebrations for the 25th anniversary of One Piece continue with a special two-day streaming event that will take place on July 22 and 23. One Piece Day promises to bring "everything One Piece in one place," and it will surely have fans of the best-selling manga in history squirming in their seats.
One Piece began serialization in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump in July 1997. After 25 years of uninterrupted publication, the manga has become a worldwide multimedia sensation, breaking every possible record and establishing a devoted fanbase that crosses through generations. The manga is written and drawn by Eiichiro Oda and follows the story of Luffy, a young man who wants to become the Pirate King, meeting both reliable friends and fearsome enemies on his quest to reach the mysterious treasure called One Piece. The series has become so successful that it's considered responsible for popularizing manga worldwide, picking up Dragon Ball's torch after Akira Toriyama's legendary comic ended in 1995.

The year 2022 is obviously a year of celebration for One Piece. The festivities kicked off in March, with the announcement of an official One Piece card game, and later a streaming event that revealed a new logo for the One Piece series, the first look at the One Piece Odyssey RPG game, and the poster for the upcoming One Piece Film: Red, which will hit theaters in August. On June 9, the official One Piece Twitter account took fans by surprise, announcing a special worldwide live streaming event that will take place on YouTube beginning July 22, the same date that One Piece's first chapter was published in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump 25 years
