The upcoming One Piece Card Game now has an official tutorial app on Google Play and the App Store, which teaches the rules of the game in a digital format. The One Piece Card Game launches in 2022, with Japan getting the game in July and a worldwide release following later in the year.
The One Piece Card Game is based on the incredibly popular One Piece manga franchise, which follows the Straw Hat Pirate crew on their adventures as they seek the mythical treasure known as One Piece. One Piece debuted in 1997 and is still going strong today, with the manga recently starting a month-long hiatus before the series enters its final arc. The popularity of One Piece has turned it into a multimedia franchise, especially in the gaming world, in terms of both crossovers with other Weekly Shonen Jump titles, and in solo One Piece video games, such as the upcoming One Piece Odyssey RPG, which was announced earlier in March and is set to launch later in 2022.

The app features a basic tutorial that explains the rules of the game, as well as a battle mode involving the Straw Hat Crew and Animal Kingdom Pirates starter decks, which allows the player to freely play the game against an AI opponent.
The One Piece Card Game rules use elements that will be familiar to fans of different card games. Each deck has a Leader, who acts like the Commander in the Magic: The Gathering Commander format, as they stay on the field at all times.
