Old Microsoft Points Cards Are a Blast from the Past

An Xbox fan recently showed off their collection of Microsoft Points. Apart from new generations of consoles and technology being introduced every few years, there are plenty of other ways that the gaming experience has changed over time. Concepts like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Premium have given fans easy access to hundreds of titles so long as they pay a monthly subscription fee. Once, things were very different, and gamers couldn't just log on to the Xbox Store to find out what titles they'd be getting in the next month of Game Pass.

Instead, if a gamer wanted to buy a digital product on the Xbox Store in the past, they'd have to use Microsoft Points. Unlike other digital marketplaces, like the Steam Store that allowed users to simply input their card details, the Xbox system required gamers to purchase Microsoft Points. Similarly to how V-Bucks are used in Fortnite or Gleamium appears in MultiVersus, Microsoft Points rarely equated to the price of the product a user would want to buy, leaving them with some left over.

Microsoft Rewards Adds New Way to Get Easy Points

The Xbox currency was phased out completely by the end of 2013, but some fans still have fond memories of buying Microsoft Points cards in a store. One Reddit user known as DLN420X recently posted a small collection of three Microsoft Points cards. Each of the cards posted by DLN420X is worth 1500 Microsoft Points, and they all feature different designs. Two of the cards have a simple Xbox look, one of which features an Xbox Avatar on the front, while the third card has the original Modern Warfare 2 cover art on its front.
