Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania promises to affect the MCU substantially going forward, just as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness promised to as well. Ant-Man 3 will be Paul Rudd's fifth live-action outing overall as the titular hero, who will once again be joined by Evangeline Lily, reprising her role as Hope van Dyne/The Wasp, with Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer returning as Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne respectively. MCU newcomer Kathryn Newton will portray Cassie, Scott Lang's daughter, who grew up during the "blip" and will eventually follow in her father's superhero footsteps.
Marvel Studios’ SDCC panel brought with it a wealth of new information concerning the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been confirmed to kick off Phase 5 of the MCU. This marks an interesting change, as Ant-Man movies have previously been used as stepping stones to bigger team-up movies, like Ant-Man's first solo film allowing him to appear in Captain America: Civil War, or the post-credit scene from Ant-Man and the Wasp, which eventually led to the Avengers' time heist in Avengers: Endgame.

Now that the direction for the future of the MCU is known — with both Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars having been announced for the end of Phase 6 — the narrative through-line of the Multiverse Saga has become clearer.
