Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 3 saw the titular Jedi Master easily defeated by Darth Vader, and his lightsaber form explains why. There was a time when Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi considered themselves brothers. Obi-Wan even kept Anakin's marriage to Padmé Amidala a secret, in defiance of the Jedi Code and his responsibilities as a member of the Jedi Council. But that came to an end when Anakin bowed the knee to Darth Sidious, and in Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith the two dueled to the death. Obi-Wan triumphed in that first encounter, leaving Anakin for dead on the lava fields of Mustafar.
But Anakin Skywalker did not die. Reborn as Darth Vader, he became the Emperor's right-hand man and a true force to be reckoned with. Obi-Wan only learned Anakin was still alive years later when he was forced out of hiding, as is depicted in the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ TV show. At the end of episode 3, Obi-Wan and Vader clashed again on the planet Mapuzo, and this time the outcome was very different, with Darth Vader tearing through Obi-Wan's defenses and humiliating him with a powerful Force choke. Obi-Wan had spent much of the last decade in hiding, his lightsaber buried in the sands of Tatooine, and so it is little surprise he lost.

In truth, though, Obi-Wan was operating from a disadvantage from the start, simply because of his lightsaber form. Obi-Wan was a master of Soresu, sometimes called the «Resilience Form» because a master of Soresu is able to maintain a strong defense, allowing their opponents to wear themselves out.
