Nintendo Switch Online is offering a new game trial in Europe for Terraria, letting you try out the hit indie sandbox game for a limited time at no extra cost.
From January 16 to February 1, you can download and play Terraria on the eShop for free (thanks, NintendoLife). After that, you can pick it up for $29.99 to keep, but if you want to get a taste of what Terraria has to really offer, you're better trialling it with some friends. It supports up to eight players online meaning that you can put together a little gang for raids while you build up a fortress to call home. However, you will need a Switch Online subscription.

What's more, Terraria just got a brand-new update called Journey's End which adds 5,000 items, 25 NPCs, and 400 new enemies. It's been out for a while on PC, but it was finally released on Nintendo Switch earlier this month. One of the key features it adds is the Journey Mode, an entirely new world and difficulty which brings powers like item duplication, weather control, spawn rate, and more. It also adds Queen Slime and Empress of Light, two new boss fights. There's plenty to keep you going even past the endgame.
But if fighting isn't your jam, then you can play a little game of golf to pass the time - it was added in the Journey's End update. Meanwhile, there's NPC happiness to give you a whole new goal - keeping your town bright and cheery. Or if you do like fighting, there's a bestiary you can now pad out with enemies, critters, and allies.
If you're already into Terraria, then there's plenty of new content to dig into, and now you can finally rope your friends in to make them try it
