Nintendo Reconfirms Breath Of The Wild 2 Is On Track For 2022

With how little we've seen of it, Nintendo fans had resigned themselves to the fact that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 would be a 2023 release at best. However, that might not be the case at all, as Nintendo is now reassuring fans that the highly anticipated sequel is still on track for a 2022 launch.

This comes from a financial report, which lists all the major Switch games that the company plans to launch this year. The report places Breath of the Wild 2 among its 2022 lineup. This is unlikely to be a placeholder too, as games that Nintendo is less confident about are listed as "TBA", suggesting development has picked up after issues faced during the pandemic.

What's also interesting to note in the report (thanks, Nintendo Life) is that the title of Breath of the Wild 2 is marked as "temp". It's therefore likely that we still haven't been shown the full name reveal, with yet another subtitle planning to be thrown in there to make the whole thing ridiculously long.

The report is good news across the board, with a bunch of big hitters still on track for a 2022 release. This includes Triangle Strategy, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Splatoon 3. Quite possibly the most reassuring confirmation behind Breath of the Wild 2 is that Bayonetta 3 is still aiming to launch this year - the most patient fans in the world shouldn't have to wait much longer.

Unfortunately, we still have no news on Metroid Prime 4's troubled development. Nintendo lists its release date as TBA - not even confident enough to place it in its lineup for next year.

At the very least, Nintendo should have a big budget to play around with to get these games
