The upcoming Gamescom arriving late this August is setting up to end summer with a host of new game announcements and previews. However, one big name from the industry doesn't appear to be preparing anything for the 2022 Gamescom event, even if the show is looking to draw in a larger crowd than previous expos.
In a recent statement, Nintendo has confirmed that it will not be making an appearance or any announcements during the Gamescom show in August. European fans can still rest assured that Nintendo will still have a presence at some of the other gaming events happening in the region, such as SWR Summer Festival and Stuttgart Children and Youth Festival. There is, however, no word from Nintendo on any future announcements at these conventions and showcases, leaving any possible news up for speculation.

This latest confirmation comes from German gaming outlet GamesWirtschaft, with Nintendo responding to a question regarding their plans for Gamescom for 2022. Nintendo does not appear to have given a reason for its absence during the Gamescom event either, even though there are several titles that many fans would be interested in seeing come August. The company will continue making appearances across Europe over the summer, however, so new announcements and opportunities for fans to get hands-on experiences with Nintendo's most anticipated titles aren't entirely out of the question.
