New Sonic 2 Trailer at Super Speed Shows Idris Elba as Sexy Knuckles
The latest trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which flies by at super speed, actually features an image of Idris Elba as a sexy Knuckles. The first Sonic the Hedgehog was one of the few box office successes of 2020, and it also earned positive reviews to boot. As a result, the upcoming sequel is by far one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Once again directed by Jeff Fowler, Sonic the Hedgehog2 features the returns of Ben Schwartz as the voice of the titular speedster and Jim Carrey as his nemesis Dr. Robotnik.
This time around, Dr. Robotnik has teamed up with a character that will be familiar to fans of the Sonic games: Knuckles the Echidna. Idris Elba voices the hot-headed bad guy, and he's already set to receive his own spinoff TV series. In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Dr. Robotnik and Knuckles are dead set on finding the Chaos Emerald so they can conquer the world, and it's up to Sonic and his pal Tails (Colleen O'Shaughnessey) to stop them. The movie also stars James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, and Adam Pally.

On Sunday, Schwartz surprised fans on social media with the newest Sonic the Hedgehog 2 trailer. Only, it's played at a super fast, Sonic-approved speed. The regular speed trailer will arrive tomorrow, March 14. Still, there are some really excellent Easter eggs tucked into today's trailer, including an image of Elba as a sexy Knuckles. No, seriously.
